What made you decide to loc your hair?
I wanted locs since middle school, but did not have the confidence to do it. One day I simply woke up and decided to let go of all my fears and just do it. That and I told my mother I would do it weeks before she passed away. So I had to keep the promise.
How long have you had your locs?
In a few days it will mark 1 year. I started around September 18th-19th
Where do you go for your loc maintenace?
I go to a spot off Nostrand in Brooklyn. I go in regular, and come out feeling like a brand new man ( with a very tight head that pulses heh heh)
Whats your favorite product to use in your locs?
Olive Oil and Natures Blessing. moisturizes and makes me hair smell oh so good : )
Any advice for guys thinking of locing their hair?
Don’t be afraid to ignore what other people say. The person looking in the mirror should be who decides your hair at the end of the day
What is your favorite fashion trend?
Cardigans, Trench Coats and Boots. All I need in life right now. I am getting into Fair Isle Sweaters though.
What would you call your style?
Preppy-Black Hippy- Rapper-Poet Style heh heh ( or P.B.H.R.P)
Who are your style inspirations?
The gentlemen at Street Etiquette, Alexander Grant, Desmond Kinlaw, Dan Trepanier,Ariel Zorilla and many many MANY more ( I am serious, it would take a while to post my inspirations in style). Not to mention simply walking the streets of New York. Inspiration is everywhere. Literally.
What is your favorite style era?
It used to be the 90s to be honest. But now it has become the 20s. I’d have loved to be a black Harlem kid during the renaissance days.
Whats 1 thing that every man should have in their closet?
A Cardigan. Because it’s versatility is clutch when you can’t decide if you want to look formal or semi formal or regular. It fits most occasions. DO IT. DO IT NOW… or when you get the money for it.
